Whipps Cross Hospital 1925 gold first prize nurses badge by Mappin & Webb

A rare original exceptionally fine quality solid gold 'Whipps Cross Hospital London nurses prize medal' in the form of a cross strung from a suspension ribbon bar; the bar and medal both impressed with Birmingham 9 carat gold hallmarks for 1924 maker's details 'MN & WB' (Mappin & Webb London), and inscribed 'Nurses Examination First Prize' 'Mona Morfydd Walton 1925'. Excellent condition, complete with original pin fittings, housed in its original Mappin & Webb velvet lined fitted case, this with scuffs and general age wear. Height approx 63mm. Weight approx 23 Grams.
