A rare original circa 1940's period 'Charles Weston and Co Ltd gilt and enamel numbered badge' in the form of a white enamel eagle superimposed over a red enamel 'V' for victory sign, resting in a blue enamel title scroll, the reverse impressed with official low issue number '258'. Very good condition, complete with original pin fittings, enamel intact, gilt finish remains bright. Height 20mm. Width 43mm. Charles Weston & Company Limited of Torrington Avenue, Coventry were 'Oil sealing engineers' but became 'Aircraft Industry Suppliers' for the Air Ministry in 1939 and throughout the war.
