BOAC Airline silver and gold bullion aircrew cap badge

A scarce original circa 1940's British Overseas Airways Corporation BOAC cap badge', finely detailed early pattern embroidered silver bullion griffin on torse, within gold bullion oak wreath surmounted by an astral crown, all set on black felt backing, the reverse with black hessian lining. Very good used condition. Height 61mm. British Overseas Airways Corporation was formed in 1939, BOAC and BEA merged in 1974 to form British Airways.
