London County Council (M) Nursing Service male nurse badge pre 1953

A scarce original believed to be late circa 1940's period 'London County Council (M) Nursing Service gilt badge' in the form of a red cross, blue enamel title circlet and depicting the pre 1953 'LCC Coat of arms', the reverse complete with its original buttonhole lapel fittings usually associated with a male nurse. Good condition, no chips to the enamel, very minor bruising to middle arms of the cross, gilt finish remains bright. Height 29mm. In 1953 the London County Council adopted a new representation of the Coat of Arms. Please see Code: 57269.
