Description
A scarce original circa 1970's period 'Central Air Services pilot's wing badge' gilt example, styled on the US Army Air Corps pattern wings and bearing a quartered red enamel shield to the centre, evidence of havig been converted fron a 'Air Envoy' wing as initials 'A' 'E' to opposite corners has been over enamelled. Very good condition, complete with original two loop fittings, enamel with under-glaze stress lines, gilt finish remains bright. Width 64mm. 'Air Envoy' was formed in 1968 at Birmingham Airport. The company name was changed to Central Air Services in 1970.
