The British Herdsmens Club membership badge

A scarce original circa 1940's 1950's period 'The British Herdsmen's Club badge'; chromium plated circular badge bearing four embossed ovals containing the head of a sheep, cow, horse and pig within a blue enamel title surround. Very good condition, complete with original pin fittings, enamel perfect. Diameter 24mm. The British Herdsmen's Club membership list was made up of herdsmen, stud-grooms and shepherds, it produced an interesting annual periodical called 'The British Herdsmen's Journal' and had 524 paid-up members in 1935. The club would look after the welfare of its members in sickness and unemployment.
