A rare original silver 'Boer War Tribute Medal' the silver disc with embossed enamel shield with the ancient arms of the 'City of Worcester', below Birmingham silver hallmarks for 1900 and maker's details 'H.B.S' Sale Birmingham, the reverse inscribed within laurel sprays PRESENTED BY THE CITIZENS OF WORCESTER TO 'Pte. T. Insall' IN RECOGNITION OF HIS SERVICES WITH THE WORCESTER VOLUNTEERS SOUTH AFRICAN WAR 1899 1900 1901. Good condition, enamel with old restoration, evidence of having had a claw style suspension ring, service wear, Diameter 31mm.
