Description

A very scarce original 1910 period 'Young Leaguer's Union badge'; fine quality example in the form of a lifebouy with extended rope edge decoration and inscribed 'To Seek and to Save That Which is Lost.' (Luke 19:10) the voided centre bearing a flag pole depicting an open bible and a dove; the reverse impressed with Chester silver hallmarks for 1910 and maker's details 'J.D&Co' (Joseph Daffern & Co Hatton Garden, London.). Excellent condition, complete with original pin fittings. Height 29mm. The 'Young Leaguer's Union' (YLU) worked in partnership with the Methodist Church and the 'National Children's Home' charity, to encourage the involvement of young people in their fund-raising.
