A very rare original pre-union 'Boys' Brigade Sergeants proficiency badge' in the form of a star bearing 'Sure & Stedfast' anchor without a cross behind, the reverse impressed with Birmingham silver hallmarks for 1898 and manufacturers details 'S&W Ld'. Very good condition, complete with original suspension ring impressed with the lion passant for silver Diameter approx 30mm.
