Description

A large Victorian period 'Primrose League Decoration of the Grand Star Fourth Grade or Marshals of the Order-M.B.S.'; unmarked star, cut in brilliant silver facets charged with five other rays enamelled red issuing from the centre. The three interior rays are also charged each with a small primrose in enamel; mounted to the centre the gilt Garter inlaid with enamelling, bearing the legend 'Imperium Et Libertas' (Empire and liberty), surmounted by an Imperial Crown and central yellow enamel primrose on red enamel background. Very good condition, complete with original pin fittings for wearing on the breast, enamel intact, except for the small primrose to the left. Height 57mm.
