Womens Voluntary Services WVS Civil Defence home front badge by Marples & Beasley

A scarce original circa 1953 to 1966 cold war period 'Womens Voluntary Services WVS Civil Defence chromium plated enamel badge'displaying a Queen's Crown, the reverse impressed with maker's details 'Marples & Beasley Birmingham'. Very good condition, complete with original pin fittings, no damage to the enamel, an excellent example. Height 29mm. 'Women's Voluntary Service' became the 'Women's Royal Voluntary Services' in 1966.
