Birmingham Asylums 1926 medico psychological nursing badge

A scarce original 'Medico-Psychological medal' in the form of a unmarked silver cross, three arms embossed with 'Union Spray' representing the unity of England, Scotland and Ireland, a Rose, Thistle and Shamrock the lower arm engraved 'December 1926; the central disc depicting the City of Birmingham Coat of Arms granted in 1889. The reverse inscribed in relief 'Presented By The Birmingham Asylums Committee To Jenny Hennessy (engraved) For Gaining Certificate Of Proficiency In Nursing Of The Medico-Psychological Association Of Great Britain & Ireland'. Very good condition. Diameter 33mm.
