Merchant Navy Surgeon rank shoulder board epaulettes

A scarce original earlier circa pre-war 'Shipping Line Surgeon pair of matching epaulettes', the reverse with indistinct Naval maker's details 'Monne?' complete with Merchant Navy gilt button and full length ties. Excellent condition. These epaulettes accompanied the previous 'Royal Mail Lines' cap badge. Do not know if there is any connection.
