Description

A very scarce early period circa 1950's 'Aer Lingus Air Stewardess brevet wing badge'; fine quality solid gilded metal example depicting a green enamel shamrock within a celtic decorated orange enamel border, from which ensues a finely detailed wing. Excellent condition, retaining original pin fitting complete with safety roller catch in good working order, enamel perfect, gilt finish remains bright. Diameter 22mm. Length 53mm. 'Aer Lingus' or Irish 'Aer Loingeas' was founded in 15 April 1936, their headquarters being in Dublin Airport in Cloghran, County Dublin, Ireland.
