Irish Defence Force Naval Service sealed pattern cap badge Dublin

A rare original 'Irish Navy Sealed Pattern Senior and Petty officer felt cloth cap badge'; embroidered silver bullion fouled anchor within a double rope edge surround, surmounted by embroidered gold bullion 'Defence Forces badge' the centrepiece 'FF' (Fianna Fáil) on red felt backing; the reverse retaining paper lining over white hessian backing. Attached to the badge is a red wax seal and label stating it to be 'An Roinn Cosanta Sample from Stock' an ink signature 'J Robinson' and dated '2FEB 1987'. Very good condition.
