BOAC Airline 1970 hallmarked 9 carat gold 25 years service badge

A fine quality 'British Overseas Airways Corporation gold cravat pin or lapel badge', very small miniature oak leaf wreath, surmounted by an Astral Crown', the central shield inlaid with pale blue enamel and with the Roman numerals 'XXV'; the reverse impressed with Birmingham 9 carat gold hallmarks for 1970 and maker's details 'M.P'. Very good condition, retaining original stick pin fitting, and brass retainer, enamel perfect. Height of badge 11mm. Height overall 31mm. British Overseas Airways Corporation was formed in 1939, BOAC and BEA merged in 1974 to form British Airways.
