WW2 Smiths Dock Company Ltd on National Service badge

A scarce original Second World War period brass and enamel badge for this Middlesbrough based Shipbuilding Company, circular example bearing 'Smith's Dock Company Flag', white with blue cross 'S.D.Co.Ld.' between the arms; the reverse with maker's details 'Thomas Fattorini Ltd Regent St Birmingham' and official impressed issue number '1632'. Good condition, retaining original buttonhole fitting, enamel intact, but with some service wear. Diameter 28mm.
