Folkestone Cycling Club members badge

A superb quality late Victorian 'Folkestone Cycling Club membership badge', in the form of a large gilded metal shield inlaid with blue enamelling, depicting an ancient ship and crew, derived from the 'Ancient Seal of the Borough of Folkestone'. Very good mint condition, retaining original typical Victorian pin fittings, enamel perfect, gilt remains fresh like the day it was made. Height 37mm.
