Primrose League Junior Branch For Merit Badge

A rare original gilt heart shaped medal, surmounted by lion’s mask suspension ring, bearing blue enamel legend 'Junior Branch Primrose League”, crimson enamel central ‘J’. The medal has green enamel oakleaf ‘shoulders’ and at the tip, a yellow primrose in relief with green enamel leaves, suspended from a yellow ribbon with central blue stripe and gilt bar inscribed 'For Merit'; the reverse with maker's details 'W.O.Lewis Howard St. Birmm.' Very good condition, retaining original pin fittings, no stress or damage to the enamel. Height 80mm.
