Description

A scarce original period 'RAF No 44 Squadron' gilt and enamel badge, depicting an elephant and Latin motto 'Fulmina Regis Justa' (The King's thunderbolts are righteous), the reverse with maker's details 'H.W.Miller Ltd B'Ham.18'. Very good condition, retaining original pin fittings, no damage to the enamel. Height 34mm. RAF No 44 Squadron took part in the Suez Crisis before disbanding in 1957, reformed again in 1960 and saw action during the Falklands War before finally being disbanded in1982.
