Description

A very fine and very rare gold and enamel pass for the 'Car and General Insurance Corporation Ltd', bearing the ornate company emblem hand painted in fine enamels, the reverse and chain links bearing London 18 carat gold hallmarks for 1917, maker's details 'GK&S' (G.Kenning & Son) and inscribed 'Car & General Registered 1903'. Excellent condition, no damage to the enamel. Height 23mm. Height with chain 43mm. The Car and General Insurance Corporation Ltd were established in 1903, they were taken over the 'Royal Exchange Assurance' in 1917.
