Womens Voluntary Service WVS Monogram 1962 silver badge

A rare post war silver badge, monogram of letters WVS worn in the neck of the blouse when in uniform, the reverse bearing Birmingham silver hallmarks for 1963 and maker's details 'LSLd' (Louis Simpson Ltd London). Very good condition, original pin fittings. Height 19mm. 'Women's Voluntary Service' became 'Women's Royal Voluntary Service' in 1966.
