WH (Heer) 'Pionier' Officer's Tunic

Sold
€1361.50

Description

Wehrmacht (Heer) Officer's Tunic as intended for a 'Hauptmann der Pioniere' (Engineers). The German Officer's service tunic followed the basic design of the Enlisted Men/NCO's field blouse, the most readily visible difference (besides the insignia) are the turned up French cuffs. This is a nice quality privately purchased M36-style field-grey wool tunic with dark-green collar. The tunic is in overall very good condition with minor traces of usage. The buttons are all the field-grey pebbled examples. The tunic is complete with all original applied insignia, including a nicely hand-embroiderd breast-eagle embroidered on not often encountered fieldgrey coloured wool matching with the tunic, shoulder boards and collar tabs. Both the collar tabs shoulder-boards are piped in the black 'Truppenfarbe' (branch colour) indicating the 'Pioniere' (Engineers). The shoulder-boards are of the sew-in type, the shoulder-boards are both having two pips attached indicating an 'Hauptmann' within a 'Pionier' Unit. There are loops to the wearer's left breast-pocket having an original Black Wound Badge attached as found together. A nice 5-piece ribbon-bar is attached through 3 loops above the wearer's left breast-pocket. There is a nice tailor's label of the company 'Spohn & Klaiber' from Ulm.a.D. Nice original 'Pionier' Officer's tunic in very good condition.
