German Forestry Association Hanger

A rare German Forestry hanger, dating from the 1930s. Manufactured by Horster. Staghorn grips decorated with three brass acorns, and gilt metalwork which has some age wear. Excellent condition 35cm blade extensively engraved with hunting scenes, with maker's stamp on the ricasse. Brass deer's foot quillion. Brown felt washer. Engraved brass and dark brown leather scabbard with acorn frog retainer. The Forestry Association was one of several non-military organisations to be politicised under the Nazis. UK sale only.
