A very sound example of an Indian Wars era issue canteen of the Massachusetts NG or Militia.Tan canvas strap with clear issue markings on the reverse, and handwritten markings on the obverse for the 5th Regiment. Wide canvas carrying strap with a brass Chalmers pattern adjustable buckle.Intact cork stopper with a brass neck ring and attaching chain. No issues beyond normal age and wear.
