US WWII M1905/42 16 Inch Bayonet and Scabbard, OL (Oneida Ltd)1943

Original period manufacture. Uncut 16 inch blade bayonet made by Oneida Ltd (OL) and dated 1943. A scarce maker in the world of 1905-42 bayonets, with around 250,000 made by this example in 1942 and 1943. Many of those were modified by having their blades cut down to 10 inches later in the war. Most of the original parkerized finish remains on the metal surfaces, no corrosion issues with a nice pair of ribbed black plastic grips. The scabbard is original WWII, but made for the US Navy black plastic training bayonet, and is marked on the steel throat, USN MK1. Original finish to the OD green plastic scabbard body.
