US WWI, M1905 Bayonet & Scabbard, SA, 1918 Blade

Original period manufacture. Classic WWI Springfield rifle bayonet, Springfield Arsenal marked (SA) and dated 1918. Steel patina finish to the blade with some shallow surface corrosion on the right side of the blade at the point. Even steel patina finish to the guard and pommel. Original walnut grips, with the markings N (Broad Arrow) Z stamped into the right side grip plate. Has to be a story there. Canvas covered, wooden bodied scabbard with a leather tip. One of the lock projections on the scabbard throat has been modified, now will only lock into position one way. Sound bayonet overall.
