Description
Shipping in mainland Europe only! This bayonet was issued in the first year of the New Imperial Germany and was used with the Infanterie-Gewehr model 1871 rifle. This weapon was designed for a distinctive JΓ€ger rifle which was issued in 1875-76 and was based on the M-1865. Unlike other German bayonets, it has black leather grips retained by five rivets and is very scarce. The bayonet is maker marked by V.C.S. Suhl (Valentin Christoph Schilling) and is dated 1880. The leather of the scabbard remains in excellent condition for its age. A beautiful piece!
