Shipping in mainland Europe only!This bayonet was issued in the first year of the New Imperial Germany and was used with the Infanterie-Gewehr model 1871 rifle. The design is based on the Fusilier Model 1860 without the rib-back. The bayonet is unit marked to what I believe to be a Reiter Regiment (cavalry); 53.R.R.8.218 and is maker marked by Clemen & Jung, Solingen. It is dated 1876. The scabbard also has a mismatched unit mark that reads; 37.R.2.128. The leather of the scabbard remains in excellent condition for its age. A beautiful piece!
