GVR 1st type WW1 Military Medal (MM)To- 27-144.SJT.F.CASTLING.13/NORTH'D.FUSFrank Castling was a resident of Durham & was one of the original N.C.O'S of the 27th service battalion of the Northumberland Fusiliers. Hence the 27- prefix to the recipients service number. He went on to serve with the 13th service battalion of the regiment & was awarded the MM for services in France in the London gazette 17-6-1919 which stated that he was a resident of Durham.NEF & Complete with MIC & London gazette details.
