GVR 1st type WW1 Military Medal (MM) To- S-2880.CPL.J.BLACK.9/GORD.HIGHRS John Black first landed in France 9-7-1915 serving with the 9th battalion of the Gordon Highlanders & was awarded the MM for services in France in the London gazette 14-9-1916 serving with the same battalion.
