WW1 British War Medal & Bronze Memorial Plaque To- 22-1120.PTE.R.B.APPLEBY.NORTH'D.FUS Robert Browes Appleby was one of the original members of the 22nd service battalion of the Northumberland Fusiliers / 3rd Tyneside Scottish. He was born in Waterhouses, Durham & enlisted in Chester-Le-Street. He was sadly killed in action in France & Flanders 1-7-1916 on the first day of the battle of the Somme & having no known grave he is commemorated on the Thiepval memorial. NEF/EF & Complete with MIC details. Along with SDGW & CWGC details.
