A very nice father & son family group to the Mirtle family 1) Victorian volunteer long service medal To- CORPL.W.MIRTLE.1st.ROX & SELK.RV.1894 Complete with a superb selection of shooting medals & trophies that are all named to the recipient. Including a small sterling silver trophy dated 1925 (141 Grams), N.R.A Bisley medal in sterling silver (23 Grams) small silver shooting medal made from a 1881 shilling coin and awarded to the recipient 25-8-1881 for his services at the royal review in Edinburgh whilst serving with the Border Rifles & 2x bronze shooting / N.R.A medals. 2) 1914-15 Trio & EVII Territorial Force efficiency medal To- 7115.SJT.P.R.MIRTLE.8/R.SCOTS (TFEM) & 6622.C.QM.SJT / WO.CL.2.P.R.MIRTLE. KOSB. Complete with a large & heavy sterling silver Maltese cross shaped shooting medal named to the recipient & darted 1928 (44 Grams). Peter.R.Mirtle was awarded the Territorial Force Efficiency medal in army order 75 dated 1-4-1910 whilst serving with the 8th Royal Scots & first landed in Gallipoli / The Balkans 20-5-1915 serving with the 4th K.O.S.B. He later transferred to the Labour Corps with service number 654725 & was discharged in 1919. All medals are GVF/NEF & Most of the shooting medals are housed in the original cases of issue. Complete with MIC & medal roll details & the fathers K.O.S.B old comrades association life membership card dated 1945. (Sadly the silver items have a scrap silver value of £130+)
