He was awarded his LS&GC in 1903 after 18 years service & first landed in France 27-8-1915. He went on to be awarded the immediate MSM for services in France with the 102nd Field company of the Royal Engineers in the London gazette 1-1-1917 & was finally discharged to the class Z army reserve 2-6-1919.
