WW1 Pair & Memorial Plaque To- 23-682.PTE.G.WILSON.NORTH'D.FUS George Wilson was one of the original members of the 23rd service battalion of the Northumberland Fusiliers / 4th Tyneside Scottish. He was born in Newcastle on Tyne & enlisted in Gateshead. He was sadly killed in action in France & Flanders 1-7-1916 on the first day of the battle of the Somme. He has no known grave and as such he is commemorated on the Thiepval Memorial. EF & Complete with MIC details. Along with details from both SDGW & the CWGC.
