WW1 1914 Mons star trio with original August to November 1914 clasp To- 9386.PTE.R.P.ANDERSON.1/GORDON.HIGHRS Robert.P.Anderson first landed in France 13-8-1914 serving with the 1st battalion of the Gordon Highlanders. He was born in South Leith & enlisted in Edinburgh. He was sadly killed in action in France & Flanders 2-4-1916 age 32.He has no known grave but is commemorated on the Menin gate memorial at Ypres. He is recorded by the C.W.G.C as the late son of Mrs G Anderson of 8 Crown Street, Leith, Edinburgh. EF/MINT & Complete with MIC details along with details from both SDGW & the CWGC. The recipients entitlement to the August to November 1914 clasp is confirmed on his MIC
