2X 1914 Mons Star trios to the Jenings brothers 1) 1914 Star Trio To- LIEUT.G.P.C.JENINGS.SHROPS.L.I George Pierce Creagh Jenings was killed in action in France & Flanders 6-11-1914 serving with the 1st battalion of the Kings Shropshire Light Infantry. He has no known grave but is commemorated on the Ploegsteert memorial.He was 27 years of age at the time of his death & was a former pupil of the Royal Military College, Sandhurst. 2) 1914 Star Trio To- CAPT.H.C.JENNINGS.5/LCRS Herbert Creagh Jennings was born in Natal 10-6-92 and in 1913 was living at Marlborough barracks in Dublin when he qualified as a pilot with the Royal Aero club. He first landed in France 17-8-1914 and when he applied for the issue of his campaign medals in 1921 he was living in Dublin. Both men are recorded as the sons of the Late Colonel.Ulick Jennings of Ironpool, County Galloway. Whilst both brothers clearly qualified for the August to November 1914 clasp. It was issued to the N.O.K of George & Herbert simply never bother to make the application. Both trios are EF with the original silk medal ribbons and come complete with extensive research details including a very nice copy photograph of Herbert in Full uniform from his pilots certificate. Along with CWGC details & De Ruvigny's roll of honour details that include a picture of George in Uniform.
