GVR 1st type WW1 Military Medal & 1914-15 Trio To- 9917.PTE/CPL.J.BRANNAN.7/8th.K.O.S.B James Brannan first landed in Egypt 16-11-1914 serving with the 1st battalion of the Kings Own Scottish Borderers & went on to be awarded the Military Medal (MM) for gallantry in France in the London gazette 30-10-1917 which states that he was a resident of Glasgow & a member of the 7/8th battalion.
