WW1 Pair & GV 1st type IGS 1908 with Afghanistan NWF 1919 clasp To- 26325.PTE.J.F.ANDERSON.H.L.I James Fyfe Anderson from Glasgow served in India with the 1st (reserve) Garrison battalion of the Highland Light Infantry (H.L.I) He was one of only 235 recipients of the IGS to this battalion out of a total issue of 240 recipients to the regiment. He was attached the the 2nd battalion of the D.L.I & every member of the regiment who received the IGS with Afghanistan NWF 1919 clasp were all attached to other units. When he applied for his medals in 1923 he gave a home address of 21 Abercorn Street, Off New City Road, Glasgow. Pair polished fair to fine. IGS VF or better with EK to rim.Complete with MIC & medal roll details
