Third Reich RAD Officers Dagger-Herder

Richard Herder were the only recognised maker of daggers having an orange grip. The grip plates on this piece are correctly attached with a single countersunk reverse screw. The reverse plate has a crack, and is slightly lighter in colour than the obverse. Eagle head pommel, ferrule and crossguard are finely detailed with no damage and appear to be of aluminium. Bright blade has no damage but has some signs of age beneath the surface. The Richard A Herder logo is visible on the obverse ricasso. The “work enobles” motto is nicely etched into the obverse blade. Steel based Scabbard has a silvered finish to the pebbled panel with most of the darkening remaining to the wheat sheaf embellishment to the upper and lower panels.
