Third Reich K98 Bayonet-Hörster

Pommel in fine condition with operating push button. No damage to backstrap or crossguard from misuse. Bakelite grips securely attached with countersunk screws and nuts. Excellent blade shows signs of mild sharpening. Upper spine marked “40”, reverse upper ricasso marked “E & F Hörster, obverse upper ricasso marked “6331”. This number is repeated on the upper obverse scabbard, which has no dents or other damage and retains the majority of its finish. Canvas frog is Khaki/green in colour, possibly for desert or tropical use. Grip strap button hole intact. Wrapped about the frog is a period Army NCO portepee in excellent condition.
