Third Reich 1st Model Luftwaffe Officers Dagger-Puma

This initial production dagger still has many of the characteristics of the 55cm “Long DLV” flyers dagger which proceeded it. Pommel and crossguard feature brass swastica inserts, scabbard has large staples for fixings and the chain and fittings are solid nickel. Pommel has some minor hits to the insert on the reverse. Leather covered wooden grip has one tiny chip adjacent to the pommel and another adjacent to the crossguard. Twisted wire decoration is tight. Crossguard has no damage with a subtle yellow tone which characterises aged nickel. Wrapped about the guard is a period 42cm portepee in excellent condition. Plated blade grades near mint having no damage with only a miniscule loss of plate to one edge. There is a blade washer present beneath the crossguard. Early Scabbard is in excellent condition and has no metal liner as is correct for this period. Lower fitting is slightly loose on the staple but in superb condition as are the other fittings. Suspension chain has nickel rings and no loose or soldered links. Early quality spring clip still operates correctly and is unmarked. Completing this rig is a brown leather belt loop having an aluminium “D” ring in the lower loop. Reverse leather is stamped “L.L.K. 1939” and the number “30” Early daggers in this condition are very hard to find.
