Third Reich Army Officers Dagger-Zeitler

Amongst the rarest of manufacturers, and in fine condition, this Army dagger would be a great addition to any collection. Recently discovered and still in a totally uncleaned state this piece deserves an appreciative home. 14 leaf pommel has all its darkening, and what may have been an initial to the top, now unreadable. Dark orange grip is undamaged but has much dirt and debris in the crevices which would easily clean to the taste of the next owner. Crossguard eagle is highly detailed having much enhancement to the breast feathering. A leather blade washer is visible beneath the crossguard. Blade has sharp tip and no damage to the edges. All crossgrain is visible and the mark “Zietler Wien” is stamped to the reverse ricasso. Some age smudging to the surfaces. Scabbard is straight but dirty with no damage or dents of any kind. Throat is retained by two side mounted screws. Bands are solidly attached and have some obvious swing wear in the scabbard ring retaining holes. Fine piece for the “type” collector!
