Third Reich Municipal Police Bayonet-Clemen & Jung

Nicely detailed eagle head pommel and backstrap with some loss of finish and signs of misuse as a hammer. This is the style without the rifle slot and mortice button. Nicely toned stag grip which is correctly attached using domed headed rivets. Police emblem is correctly pinned through the grip and “wiggles” properly. Plated blade is a non cut-down version and is in superb condition having no damage to the edges or loss of plating. The Clemen & Jung “shield” logo is stamped to the reverse ricasso, and a brown leather washer is in place beneath the crossguard. This piece is equipped with a black finished steel scabbard, and plated steel scabbard fittings, both of which have their retaining screws and are stamped with the number “5”. Fine example of the less common steel based Police bayonet, which was constructed during the third Reich period.
