Third Reich Long “Pioneer” Bayonet

Sold
£450.00

Description

This example has no maker mark, but is a superb example in every way. Crossguard, backstrap and pommel show no signs of misuse, the pommel having a correctly operating mortice button and a red felt slug in the rifle slot. Dressed, domed rivets attach the perfect chequered Bakelite grips. Plated, bright blade grades near mint having no edge damage and a super sharp tip. A black leather blade washer still protects the finish on this blade. So called “ cavalry” style frog has perfect leather and white stitching and is of four rivet construction. Black scabbard has no loss of finish at all and grades mint. Highly collectible example of an uncommon bayonet type.
