Another rare maker for a Luft dagger! Pommel is highly detailed having much hand enhancing, both to the background of the acorn leaves and to the swastica, which retains its original gold finish. Although thinning, this covering is clearly present on both obverse and reverse. Undamaged grip is tightly wrapped with twisted brass wire. Crossguard eagle shows no wear, having remarkable detail to wing and breast feathering. A blade washer is set in the recess beneath the crossguard. Bright blade has a few minuscule hits to the edges, but these cannot be seen, only felt with a fingernail. Crossgrain is visible along the length, with just a few age signs beneath the surface. Scabbard has a perfect airplane grey finish with no signs of age or damage whatsoever. Scabbard bands and rings are securely set in place and have excellent definition to the raised oak leaf depictions. Super example of a rare maker Luftwaffe dagger!
