Third Reich Luftwaffe Dagger-Alcoso

Nice looking dagger having bright aluminium fittings on the scabbard which contrast nicely with the toned finish on the main panels. Totally undamaged pommel having much hand enhanced stippling to the background and precisely defined oak leaves. This level of detailing is continued on the wing and breast feathering on the magnificent crossguard eagle, and particularly on the crossguard reverse which has prominent stippling and a dark background finish. Lemon coloured grip is tightly wrapped with twin strands of twisted brass wire. Bright blade is in near perfect condition having no edge damage and a needle sharp point. The Alcoso scales trademark is displayed prominently on the obverse upper ricasso. Twin throat retaining screws are present on either side of the upper scabbard and appear unturned. Scabbard is straight without dents and with only minor age related staining. Aluminium bands and rings show some loss of definition due to period wear but are solid on the scabbard shell.
