Fire Leaders Dagger-WKC

This long dagger was produced during the Weimar period but would have been worn into the Third Reich, with the addition of a variation leather hanger very similar to those worn with the HJ Leader dagger.Spherical 'flame' pommel in fine condition having much detail and with no hits to the circumference. Solid black grip has a twisted silver wire wrap and brass ferrule with no damage. Typical WKC crossguard has conical ends to the arms and excellent detail to the centre blocks. A red felt washer remains beneath the crossguard. Double etched blade has fine depictions of fire apparatus and floral tributes with no nicks or damage to the edges. The WK & C makers mark is stamped to the upper reverse ricasso. Area near the tip shows minor signs of sharpening but this does not extend into the etched panels to any degree. Black leather scabbard has no damage with a perfectly intact seam to the reverse. Upper and lower brass scabbard fittings are perfect having tight staples.No collection is complete without the Fire leaders dagger, and this example would certainly fit the bill.
