Third Reich Pioneer Long Dress Bayonet-Tiger

Excellent complete 'pioneer' dress bayonet rig having the benefit of a maker marked frog and a most unusual maker/depot marked Luftwaffe trodell. Most of the bright finish remains to the short 'pioneer' style crossguard, backstrap and pommel, which has an operating push button. Chequered grips are retained by domed rivets, reverse grip has a small chip to the upper quadrant. Bright blade has one minor nick to the edge and has the 'prowling tiger' logo to the obverse ricasso, with the makers name and location prominent to the reverse ricasso. Black painted scabbard is in excellent condition with only one minuscule paint chip to the obverse. Black 'Cavalry' style leather frog is of four rivet construction having a leather grip strap in the upper section. The makers/distributors name and location are stamped to the reverse, being 'Overhoff & Cie Ludenschied 1940' . Wrapped about the frog is a Lufrwaffe knot having a grey leather strap with date and Flak regiment stamping to the reverse.
