Fourteen leaf pommel has no damage to the rim and superb detailing to the oak leaves, with all the stippling remaining to the background. Undamaged grip is in perfect condition and has a delicate lemon yellow hue. Ferrule and crossguard have superb detailing and demonstrate much hand enhancement particularly to the eagles eye and brow, wing and breast feathering. All the original darkening remains to this exceptional crossguard. An original mint portepee is wrapped around the hilt assembly in the correct tie. Blade on this piece is exceptional. Needle sharp, no edge damage and effectively full mint. A brown leather washer remains within the crossguard recess. Scabbard retains all its bright finish with highly detailed stippling to the panels. Scabbard bands remain securely fixed and retain scabbard rings. Side placed throat screws are present and appear unturned. An extremely attractive Army dagger.
